Synopsis[edit]
Facing the destruction of their home planet Krypton, Jor-El pleads with the Kryptonian Science Council to take his proposition seriously. When denied, he and Lara are left with no choice but to send their newborn son, Kal-El, to Earth. Kal escapes Krypton as it explodes, arriving on Earth several months later. He grows up as a normal human child on Kent Farm with his adoptive parents, who name him Clark. When Jonathan Kent suddenly dies during Clark's teenage years, Clark discovers Kryptonite that his father had left in his escape pod. He leaves his widowed mother behind, journeying to the Fortress of Solitude, where he discovers his past. Taking up a life as a reporter at the Daily Planet in Metropolis, he soon becomes involved in a criminal conspiracy endangering the lives of many. Under the mantle of Superman, Kal ventures to stop Lex Luthor's plan, saving the life of his love along the way.
